The Clohéac Project
Bretons by nature, committed in material. Discover how we give a second life to our buckwheat husks to create the eco-material of tomorrow.

Giving a second life to our buckwheat
In line with our zero-waste approach, we wanted to go further by exploring new avenues of upcycling, particularly around the buckwheat husk. We therefore looked for an alternative to traditional mulching. In 2020, our proximity to the company Clohéac gave rise to an ambitious project: transforming this natural envelope into a sustainable composite material for outdoor landscaping.

A 100% Breton innovation
To bring this project to life, Clohéac surrounded itself with industrial partners. Together, they took up the challenge of integrating our buckwheat husks into an innovative PVC profile, designed to combine performance and durability:
- ✓A recycled core: made from recycled PVC to optimize resource use.
- ✓A co-extruded skin: directly incorporating our buckwheat husks, for an aesthetic finish with a controlled carbon footprint.
The Future of Landscaping
